What differs between these kits

Whether a pre-coated plate is included

Some of our kits arrive with the plate already coated with the capture antibody, so you can start with your samples. Others supply the antibodies and standard only. Coating your own plate is more work, and it gives you control over the coating conditions and the plate.

Which plate we supply

Available as White, Clear, or Strip. Strip plates let you use part of a plate at a time, which suits smaller or staggered experiments, and a full plate costs less per well. You'll find exact plate specifications on each product page.

Which detection system

Available with Streptavidin-ALP, Streptavidin-HRP, One-step ALP, or One-step HRP. With a streptavidin conjugate you add a second incubation after the biotinylated antibody, which amplifies the signal. A one-step conjugate arrives attached to the antibody, so developing takes a single incubation. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) perform equivalently, so that choice usually comes down to the substrate and reader you already work with.

About IFN-γ

These Human IFN-γ ELISpot kits target IFNG (Homo sapiens, Gene ID 3458).

Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) is the only type II interferon. This proinflammatory cytokine is secreted by activated T cells and NK cells. It activates macrophages and endothelial cells and regulates immune responses by affecting APCs, T cells, and B cells. Production of IFN-γ by helper T cells and cytotoxic T cells is a hallmark of the Th1-type phenotype. Thus, high-level production of IFN-γ is typically associated with effective host defense against intracellular pathogens.
