Buffers that keep everything in balance
Buffers play a critical role in ensuring reliable and reproducible immunoassay results. Samples such as cell culture supernatants, serum, or plasma typically contain a complex mixture of proteins and other components. Carefully selected buffers help create stable assay conditions where binding reactions can proceed as intended, allowing your target analyte to be specifically recognized while minimizing background and variability.
Designed for different sample types
Mabtech buffers are optimized for specific applications and sample matrices. For cell culture supernatants, incubation buffers support efficient binding while maintaining low background. For serum and plasma samples, our dedicated ELISA diluent is formulated to handle the added complexity of blood-derived samples and ensure accurate analyte quantification.
One common challenge when working with serum and plasma is interference from heterophilic antibodies or rheumatoid factor, which can lead to false-positive results in sandwich ELISAs. For particularly challenging samples containing rheumatoid factor, we’ve developed ELISA PathRF kits that include a specialized buffer (not sold separately) that further reduce the risk of interference, supporting reliable data even in complex clinical or disease-related samples.
Consistency from standards to samples
Accurate quantification relies on well-prepared standards and carefully handled samples. Mabtech buffers are formulated to support protein stability during dilution and incubation, helping to preserve analyte integrity and ensure that standard curves and samples behave comparably within the assay.
By focusing on stability, compatibility, and reproducibility, our buffers provide a solid foundation for dependable immunoassay performance – run after run.
