Who we are

At Mabtech, our goal is to help fellow scientists reach new frontiers through optimal immunoassays and instruments.

Thanks to close collaboration with customers, we continually develop novel and innovative tools for life science research.

About us

We are a Swedish company developing immunoassays for life science research.

Our goal is to aid research by providing the scientific community with innovative tools, in particular for ELISpot, FluoroSpot, ELISA, and multiplex. To that end, we develop and produce a wide range of monoclonal antibodies, kits, peptide pools, and instruments for in vitro applications.

We started off in Stockholm in 1986, and our headquarters still lies in Nacka Strand, just east of the inner city. We do everything here, from research and production to finance, IT, quality control, marketing, distribution, and sales. In addition, we have a sales office in Cincinnati, Ohio, and collaborate with great distributors around the globe.

The quality of our products really comes down to our entire organization; the balance between individual action and care for the collective. Because for us, quality isn’t just a word. It’s a mindset, a mantra, and a lens we hold to all our initiatives, whatever the size.

As part of the scientific community, we want to do our share to help science progress. So we hope you see us as peers  feel free to strike up any sort of conversation with us.

Our story

How it all came about.

Customer stories

We recently turned 40 (!) and asked our customers and partners to share their favorite Mabtech memory. Here are some of them.

Some companies talk about culture. Others live it.

Mabtech turns 40 today and here is a memory that says more about your company than any company description ever could.

A few years back I came in as a recruitment consultant to support the build-out of a new department focused on instruments. In true Mabtech fashion, the instruments had been developed almost entirely in-house. Engineered piece by piece. Customers were lining up and they needed people who could act as product specialists, performing QC testing and customer onboarding and service in the field.

The department was led by an internal talent who had earned the trust over time.

That is Mabtech.

A company that builds its instruments the way it builds its people. With patience, precision and genuine belief in what they are creating not for themselves but for all scientists and immunologists out there.

Congratulations on 40 years. The best is still ahead.

Dear Mabtech Team,
Happy 40th Anniversary!

My favorite Mabtech memory comes from the final stretch of my PhD at the University of Minnesota. I was working on a new vaccine platform and spent months running high-stakes plasma cell assays to check our immune responses. Anyone who has worked with B cells knows how unpredictable they can be, and I was losing a ton of time to messy, inconsistent data and high background noise from other methods. With graduation deadlines looming, the stress was real.

I finally switched our protocol over to your kits, and it completely changed everything. I still remember pulling the plates and seeing the data. The spots were so crisp, clean, and perfectly defined. No guessing, no weird background artifacts, just clear answers. In fact, it worked so reliably that I was able to comfortably scale up to massive 120-sample marathons without worrying that the reagents would glitch and ruin weeks of hard work.

Your line in the email perfectly nailed it: 'Research is hard. The least we can do is make sure our part of it isn't.' Your kits turned months of frustrating troubleshooting into reliable data that helped me confidently finish my dissertation.

Thank you for being a company run by scientists who actually care about quality. Here’s to 40 more years! :-)

Customer ratings

Speak up!

Our ratings to the right are based on the answers from a whole bunch of customers. Do you agree with them? Would you like to give us some feedback? Please feel free to fill in our online survey.

Why do we highlight an NPS of 72?
Because it means our customers really like us. On a scale from -100 to 100, 72 is world-class. Think “people-would-recommend-us-at-a-party” level good.

Partnerships

Mabtech has several ongoing collaborations with research institutes and companies. We believe that close academic and industrial collaborations will pave the way for future developments which will aid in international research.
