Detection of human apoA1 with mAb HDL110 in Western blot. Human plasma (0.1 µl and 0.01 µl) in SDS sample buffer were denatured at 70˚C for 10 minutes and run on SDS-page / Western blot. ApoA1 was detected using 1 µg/ml HDL110 (biotinylated) followed by SA-ALP and BCIP/NBT-plus substrate.

apoA1

Analyte descriptionApolipoprotein A1 (apoA1, also known as apolipoprotein-A1, apo A1 and apoA-I) is the main protein component of high density lipoprotein particles (HDL). ApoA1 (28 kD) is mainly produced in the liver and exported into the circulation where it acquires lipids and becomes HDL. High level of apoA1 is regarded as protective against atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. Normal concentration of apoA1 in human plasma is approximately 0.8-2.2 g/L.
