Product specifications

Intended use

This ELISA Pro kit is intended for the quantification of mouse apoA1 in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Serum/Plasma samples

Apolipoprotein dilution
Apolipoproteins are present at high levels in serum and plasma. For ELISA quantification, such samples must therefore be diluted 5,000-200,000 times depending on the apolipoprotein analyzed.

Shipping and Storage

Shipping

Shipped at ambient temperature.

Storage

Store detection mAb, Streptavidin-HRP, buffers/solutions, and substrate at 4-8 °C upon receipt. The ELISA standard should be stored at -20 °C. Plates may be kept at room temperature.

Shelf lifeAt least 12 months from date of receipt.
Standard range0.16-10 ng/ml
Sensitivity0.03 ng/ml

The lowest concentration that can be detected, but not necessarily quantified with precision and accuracy. This was determined by adding 5 standard deviations to the mean OD of background wells.

Mean standard curve from repeated runs of mouse apolipoprotein A1 (apoA1) ELISA Pro kit.

apoA1

Analyte description

Apolipoprotein A1 (apoA1) is the main protein component of high-density lipoprotein particles (HDL). ApoA1 (28 kD) is mainly produced in the liver and exported into circulation where it acquires lipids and becomes HDL. A high level of apoA1 is considered protective against atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. The normal concentration of apoA1 in human plasma is approximately 0.8-2.2 g/L.
