ELISA diluent

Intended use

This ELISA Flex kit is intended for the quantification of human CCL2 (MCP-1) in solution. For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Serum/Plasma samples

Analysis of serum/plasma with this kit requires the use of ELISA diluent. The ELISA diluent blocks heterophilic antibodies from cross-linking the assay antibodies, thereby preventing false-positive read-outs. Heterophilic antibodies are commonly found in human serum/plasma. The ELISA diluent has been validated using from healthy human blood donors. It should be used for dilution of standard, samples, and detection antibody.

CCL2 (MCP-1)

Analyte description	Chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2), also called monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) and JE, belongs to the CC chemokine family. CCL2 is secreted by a wide array of cells including monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, endothelial cells, astrocytes, and osteoblasts. In addition to its chemotactic properties, CCL2 is involved in processes of degranulation, upregulation of receptors, cell survival, and secretion of cytokines. Its presence in multiple tissues has been linked to various diseases such as Alzheimer's, diabetes, tuberculosis, osteoporosis, and cancer where CCL2 plays a role in tumor microenvironment.
