Influenza A FociSpot kit and monoclonal antibody

What’s new?

We added a new FociSpot kit to our webshop: FociSpot Path: Influenza A (NP).

Our FociSpot kit allows you to quantity Influenza A virus foci in focus forming assays (FFA). The kit includes a monoclonal antibody that specifically identifies the nucleoprotein (NP) of Influenza A.

Additionally, the antibody can be purchased separately in unconjugated or biotinylated formats and is ideal for use in ELISA.

How does this FociSpot kit work?

The FociSpot assay has various applications, such as virus quantification and neutralizing antibody titer assessment.

To measure the amount of infectious virus in a sample, a host cell monolayer is infected with the sample for a short period. The incubation time is limited to only measuring the initial number of infectious particles in the sample. For influenza, it is recommended to prevent reinfection by adding oseltamivir to the infection experiment.

FociSpot assay principle

Our FociSpot kits can detect virus-infected cells. Foci are detected by immunostaining using a virus-specific mAb and a precipitating substrate reaction, similar to ELISpot. The FociSpot application in Mabtech IRIS 2 can automatically count the developed foci getting you to your results faster than ever.
