What is M-CSF?

M-CSF, also known as CSF-1 (Colony-Stimulating Factor-1), is a growth factor secreted by fibroblasts, endothelial cells, macrophages, and osteoblasts. It is the principal driver of monocyte and macrophage differentiation, survival, and function. M-CSF is central to research in macrophage biology, bone remodeling, and tumor-associated macrophages.
