What is CXCL5 (LIX)?
CXCL5, also known as LIX (Lipopolysaccharide-Induced CXC chemokine) or ENA-78, is an ELR-positive chemokine secreted primarily by alveolar type II epithelial cells and platelets. Signaling through CXCR2, it recruits and activates neutrophils and contributes to connective tissue remodeling. CXCL5 is particularly relevant to researchers studying lung inflammation, respiratory disease, and chronic inflammatory conditions.
