What is CXCL12?
CXCL12, also known as SDF-1 (Stromal cell-Derived Factor-1), is a homeostatic chemokine secreted mainly by bone marrow stromal cells, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells. Acting through the receptor CXCR4, it is essential for stem cell homing, hematopoiesis, immune cell trafficking, and tissue repair. CXCL12 is a cornerstone marker for research in bone marrow biology, regenerative medicine, and cancer metastasis.
