Detection of human apoH with mAb H464 in Western blot. Human plasma (0.1 µl and 0.01 µl) in SDS sample buffer were denatured at 70˚C for 10 minutes and run on SDS-page / Western blot. ApoH was detected using 1 µg/ml H464 (biotinylated) followed by SA-ALP and BCIP/NBT-plus substrate.

Analyte descriptionApolipoprotein H (apoH, also known as apolipoproteinH, apo H, beta 2-glycoprotein 1 and β2-glycoprotein I) is associated to VLDL, HDL and chylomicrons in plasma and binds to anionic lipids e.g. phospholipids. ApoH is the dominant target of autoantibodies in anti-phosphlipid syndrome (APS). In the blood coagulation pathway, apoH is involved both as an anti-coagulant and as a procoagulant. Normal concentration of apoH in human plasma is approximately 0.05-0.6 g/L.
