New Interleukin-17 system launched
We are happy to announce the recent launch of our IL-17 system with ELISA and ELISpot kits to Human, Monkey and Mouse IL-17A. Click here for a complete list of available IL-17A products.
We also would like to announce that our FluoroSpot Kit for Human IL-17A/IFN-γ is now available.
IL-17A is mainly produced by a recently discovered subset of CD4+ effector T-helper cells (Th17) (adaptive immune system), but other cells belonging to the innate immune system can also produce IL-17A. IL-17A has proinflammatory properties and acts on a broad range of cell types to induce expression of cytokines, chemokines and metalloproteinases.
IL-17A is also a key cytokine for the recruitment, activation, and migration of neutrophiles. IL-17A has been reported to be a factor for the formation of germinal centers. Th17 cells are involved in the protection against certain bacteria and fungi that are not cleared by Th1 or Th2 cells. In addition Th17 cells are potent inducers of tissue inflammation and have been associated with the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, human inflammatory conditions and cancer.
