The B-cell ELISpot is a highly sensitive assay that allows the detection and enumeration of antibody secreting cells. The assay can be used for the detection of antigen-specific responses as well as for determinations of the total number of Ig-secreting cells. By use of isotype specific reagents, cells producing antibodies of different isotypes (IgG, IgM, IgA and IgE) can be analysed separately.
